Hi divas š¤
Put me at an event with a lanyard on and I will happily pump out thirty five videos in a day. I donāt think about it, I donāt rehearse it, I just talk. Yapping publicly on LinkedIn has become genuinely easy for me, to the point where itās now a professional part of my job.
Then I sit at my kitchen table on a normal Tuesday, think āI should film something today,ā and it does not happen. Not once. The camera stays in my pocket and the thought quietly dies.
If itās that hard for me, and this is literally part of what I get paid to do, then itās hard for everyone. So this one is for the every girl, and Iām doing the reps right alongside you.
Thatās the whole idea behind the Yap Challenge. Thirty days, one challenge a day, you film yourself yapping and post it in the group chat for feedback or on your socials if youāre feeling brave. You might never post a single one publicly. Completely allowed. The reps are what make you better, not the posting.
Iāve paid for a version of this before. A few hundred dollars for a challenge that was, in the end, information pointed at me in one direction. No way to share a rough take, no one to tell me the first thirty seconds were dead weight, no room to actually get better. I didnāt finish it. Of course I didnāt.
So we built ours differently, and free. The workshop, the daily prompts, the group, all of it, no cost. The WhatsApp channel is going to be absolute chaos and that is exactly the point. Chaos means people are actually filming. It means real commentary, real feedback, and a room full of women helping each other tune a message instead of guessing alone.
Two thank yous. Britt from State of Brand, who put her hand up to run the kick-off personal branding workshop and get us clear on our message before we start yapping into the void. And Ari from Athlinq, who came up with the whole idea in the chat, which is the magic of that chat. Someone says a thing at 9pm and three weeks later itās a program.
We kick off Tuesday 15 September, 6pm, with Brittās 90 minute workshop, then straight into the thirty days.
You need no equipment. Your phone is fine. If you want to spend twenty dollars on a tiny lapel mic it will make your audio noticeably better, and Iāll drop links in the chat for the ones I use.
So, what would you actually say about your work if you werenāt performing it?
Sign up on Luma for the workshop, join the yap challenge channel in the MOODY WhatsApp for the daily prompts.
Letās go, girls.
